CHIMPHOBIA

Whew! At last! I finished this one. I actually had this concept just last week, and I was thinking how can I interpret it in photoshop.  Well, this isn’t that special to start with because my work isn’t that great, but then I’m still proud because I put some effort on this one.

We were actually talking in our Pysch 141 class last week about the the contributions of our genetic structure in the changes of our behaviours. And then we ended up discussing about the great resemblance of chimpanzees’ genetic structure to human beings’. The chimpz […] Continue Reading…

UP’s CRSIS, a pain in the ass…

Well, talking about pains in our asses…UP’s CRSIS’s the name baby…hell yeah! The university’s new online enrollment system became a burden instead of a solution to slow enrollment process. Wege, I and Roni have started processing our enrollment last Monday and up to now we are not enrolled yet. What the heck!

Roni texting…after we had our temporary form 5 signed by our adviser…
The server is always down! OMG! Where’s the back-up? And the students have no absolute control over their CRSIS accounts. We cannot confirm our subjects beyond the scheduled dates and because of this we […] Continue Reading…

I miss Philo…

This is the second time that I met a teacher who is so passionate, and very devoted to his profession. The first time was when I was in highschool, and it was Mr. Candano, my English teacher. Now, it’s prof. Espiritu, my Philo teacher.

Prof. Espiritu in white long sleeves
The common ground of these two fellows, is they see to it that every person would feel special every time they’re around. These kind of people are so rare to find and so precious to lose. Anyways, here are photos of my Philo class last semester…

That’s me […] Continue Reading…

Teleological Approach To Personality

by EOD
This is just a summary…
In a relativist point of view, personality development varies from culture to culture, from place to place. So does the development of a unique Filipino personality. On the other hand, the Teleological Approach is in lieu of universalism. Personality development is greatly correlated with consequentialism (individuals are consquentialists in nature). Consequences motivate individuals to change or alter their attitudes. This is because people in general are goal-oriented. They always expect reciprocation and consequences.
This approach can be used as another spectrum in viewing the Filipino personality as a whole. This is because their consequence-oriented personality […] Continue Reading…

Bisrock blogsite mentioned in FHM…

A friend told me that my bisrock blogsite is mentioned in FHM’s June issue. I immediately get my copy of the said issue and scan the pages. And here it is…
The write up is a part of the “Rock n Roll Joyride” article sponsored by Red Horse. It’s subtitle is “BISROCK, CEBU’S BEST PRODUCT SINCE YOYOY VILLAME”. This is what the article said:
On the surface, Cebu bands dabble in pretty much the same sounds as their Manila counterparts. But the crucial difference is how they reproduce their sound in an album. In that part of the game […] Continue Reading…

APO

Hmmmn…I’ve known a lot of fraternities here in Cebu, but only one has caught my attention saliently. APO or Alpha Phi Omega is a true paradigm of what a fraternity should be. Unlike other fraternities which gained notoriety due to violence, APO stands with its goals and missions, and that what made the organization a role model in our society. Instead of bragging about high-powered guns and private goons (like what the members of other fraternities are doing), APO has a community service-oriented activities that alleviate the hardships of the common people. This kind […] Continue Reading…

Local Racism

Hmmn…I’ve read an article a long time ago entitled “Racism, Filipino Style” from getrealphilippines.com. It is written by a guy named Benigno. The article is quite sarcastic in nature but surprisingly it is mostly true to almost all Filipinos. He rants about Filipinos getting scared of going abroad because of racial discrimination without taking into consideration that we also are getting discriminated in our country by our beloved Filipino fellows by virtue of the way we speak (especially the English language), the color of our skin (this one I hate a lot), the schools we came from (the elite […] Continue Reading…

Sara’s dead…):

I’m quite disappointed that the production team had finally decided the fate of Dr. Sara Tacredi…It’s disheartening that they have no other choice but to kill her character because Sarah Wayne Callies declined the offer to renew her contract…hmmmn….sayang…murag makawa ug gana motan-aw…beset oist…Anyways, here’s an excerpt an interview with Prison Break executive producer Matt Olmstead….

Last January, after it was announced that Sarah was pregnant, your colleague, Paul Scheuring, assured fans that he had no intention of killing off her character. What changed?
Matt Olmstead: What changed is that our initial pitch to the network was [rejected], […] Continue Reading…

Rajneesh Osho

Ehem…one of my fave philosopher…In any other way, I can tell that he’s the most practical one I’ve known…I used to hate Indian people before but this bearded guy changed my construct…hahahahahaha…
I really like this statement from his book:
“Life is a journey—an endless journey. Do not analyze. Just enjoy the journey. Pity you!—in your obsession for the destination, you miss to appreciate the beauty of the journey itself. There is no goal—if life has a goal, then when you reach the goal, you have become imprisoned by your own goal—you have become less by your goal. What we have […] Continue Reading…

Free Association(06-30-07)

I decided to do this “Free Association” stuff at 12 midnight last night. At first I was hesitating, and I really didn’t have any idea what to say. And then I tried to recall all the things that I did that day. The very first thing that came to mind is my frustration of my Stat subject. I didn’t able to get the last exercise because I missed Miss G’s instruction, and I was blaming myself.
It hit me that I’m always blaming myself whenever I did something that disappoint me, and I’m quite disheartened that until now […] Continue Reading…

MOST PEOPLE ARE JUST TOO UNGRATEFUL TO BE ALIVE

I just watched SAW and the movie entails more than it’s genre and more than the intensity of a jigsaw, savagely used by Dr. Lawrence to cut off his leg. Before I watch this movie I’ve already heard some remarks from my friends that it’s pretty bloody, scary, terrifying, and everything gory.  They told me to watch it because they know that I’m into this stuff. Well, I watched the first part and I’m quite glued up on the screen from the start to the end.

SAW is not really the jigsaw…no…no…no…It’s that “thing” the
serial killer “SEE” that the […] Continue Reading…

Seung Cho is a Paranoid Schizophrenic…

That’s the initial analysis of an expert told Larry King, on his show Larry King Live, about the 23-year old gunman, Seung Cho of Virginia Tech University.

I am kinda fascinated with this case since it involves more on psychological aspects of the human brain as it’s being put into some mysterious twists and turns. The whole world was shocked by this devastating man-made catastrophe, and this is definitely the deadliest massacre in the American modern history.

There are questions of the school’s security, how the gunman managed to kill all those students, what really was inside his mind […] Continue Reading…

Hannibal

He has no choice but to cut his left arm instead of hers…He wanted her…he ached for her but,  he wanted to eat her…eat her alive…NO!
I’ve watched this movie may be thrice or twice, but I’m not yet satisfied that I watched it again and again. Way back those gloomy days, I read the book…I read it with the intention of deciphering the depth of the mind of the sharpest, wittiest, most cunning, and the most refined and sophisticated criminal in the fiction world…no other than Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
Hannibal, the forensic psychologist who is guilty of lots of bizarre […] Continue Reading…

Writing?

I always love to write since I was in grade school, until when I was in high school, and until now that I’ve already graduated in college. I write stories that depict the topics of the books that I have read. I’ve already written so many fancy stories and my friends seemed to like them. I love to write all the things that come into mind. But my writings depend on how inspired I am. Sometimes I get so bored and I don’t even want to press any keys in my keyboard, and sometimes I’m over inspired that I […] Continue Reading…
