Badian Island…

Say goodbye to those lousy experimental papers, trash all those field research instruments, and wave farewell to those endless overnight-mares responsible of countless falling hair and scary eye bags! Hehehe! Whew! Summer is finally here! My most beloved season of the year! But ooppsss…reality check…My calvary ain’t over yet. I still have a research paper and focus group discussion write-ups to do for my field psych, a final exam and paper in learning, a group facilitation exam in group dynamics and a final exam as well, and most especially I’m not finished yet gathering data for my field psych…This is terrible! We just finished our final paper in experimental psych today as well as our proposal paper in group dynamics, but it is still so frustrating because the list of things to do is still a kilometer long. *cries*

Summer!!!

Anyways, the list seems to shorten every time I think of our planned summer get-away this April 26 in Badian Island. Weeeeehhh! Yeah! April 26 is actually my close friend’s birthday and we always celebrate it out of town. For this year we decided to go to Badian Island. Another close friend of mine has a house there but we will be staying in another house which is already fully equipped (with shower, kitchen, ref, tv, aircon, and the whole house for all of us) and mind you, it only charges one thousand and five hundred bucks for an overnight stay. Ain’t that amazing? Hehehe! I’m so excited I can’t think of anything, but the beautiful stars grazing above the summer sky, while I lay lying on the sand feeling the summer breeze kissing my skin and breathing the cool sea air in and out of my lungs. Hehehe! I really, really miss the ocean especially those lazy hours I spent alone in the beach by myself (murag amo kay sigeg ruminate…hehe..). (Photo from badianhotel.com)

Whew! And all that I can say is that the human species are indeed the most sadistic creatures in the vast universe. Hehehehe! Who would have paid millions of pesos es just to watch two individuals throwing punches toward each other, hitting each others bloody faces until brows and cheeks turned into ugly cuts, head butting each other until brain cellulites inside their bloody skulls collided and exploded, and even to the point of punching each others balls and testicles!(Hehehehe!)

All of us blood thirsty homo-sapiens have definitely enjoyed the show last bloody Sunday. Such savagery of exchanging fist and releasing unnatural sweats and even shading of tears and bloods can only be endured by sadistic mammals like us. Hehehehe! We, the human race are all guilty of such sadistic exhibitions like shouting, cheering, laughing, and jumping due to the salient pleasure we sweetly experienced every time pacman’s fists landed on marquez. We were like red-eyed beasts drooling and grinning as we savored the ecstatic feeling of great satisfaction of watching the exchange of hard blows and we were greatly rewarded as our very own ended up the bloody champion. Hehehe! (Photo from pacquiaovideo.com)

N.B. I know this post is kinda late…but better late than never…hehehe…

SILK

Have you imagined yourself walking in a garden very late in the afternoon? The sun slowly sets, the wind a bit chilly, stilly surroundings, a familiar chirping of birds from trees afar, dried leaves all around you, everything seems stagnant, and a feeling of emptiness creeping inside you…

That’s how I felt when I watched this movie. Silk is way too different from any other movies I’ve seen. The scenes are too serene and melancholic, yet too vivid. The unfolding of characters is softly sculpted that you would slowly learn to like each one of them. The story yielded a climax of guilt-provoking scenes, yet it’s not actually what it seems. The tip of the climax sends a message to everyone about the congruency of true love and unconditional love. That big, red muscle in the center of your rib cage would definitely utter a sigh of longing as the protagonist unveils the most precious secret of his existence. (Hehehe!) (Photo from IMDB.com)
